ADIB names Lopez as new chief digital officer

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading financial institution, has appointed Fernando Plaza Lopez as its new Chief Digital Officer. Lopez will be responsible for driving digital strategy across the bank, including innovation, digital product, development, omnichannel and agile initiatives.

With over 20 years of experience in the digital and payments industry, Lopez is an accomplished industry professional with a proven track record of driving growth in high-growth, fast-paced businesses. Throughout his career, Lopez has been involved in every level of the digital and payments industry, from startups to large corporations. He has held senior leadership roles in prestigious organizations such as Lloyds Banking Group, Vodafone Group, Emirates Group, Al Rajhi Bank and Arab National Bank.

Before becoming chief digital officer at Arab National Bank, Lopez built a new business unit to drive growth in digital, fintech, payments and remittances. He led the digital transformation of the bank’s money transfer business, driving online banking revenue growth, creating payments teams for point of sale, e-commerce acquiring, international money transfers, and establishing a fintech partnership program, among other accomplishments. — trade arab news agency
