ADIHEX hosts a scientific conference on the future of Falcon

The 18th Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) will host a scientific conference on the theme of “Falcon’s Future” through a series of professional seminars.

The conference will celebrate more than 10 years, due to its inclusion in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Scientific Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative List, Falcon has received the most important global recognition for its legitimacy and cultural richness. The conference was organized in cooperation with UNESCO and co-organized by the UAE Falcon Club and the International Association for the Protection of Falcons and Birds of Prey (IAF). Its members include 110 falcon clubs and institutions representing 90 countries, with a total of more than 75,000 worldwide Falconer.

ADIHEX will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from September 27th to October 3rd. It will be hosted by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, representative of the ruler of the Al Dhafra region and chairman of the UAE Falcon Club. Sponsored by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. It will be organized by the UAE Falcon Club under the slogan “Sustainability and Tradition… the desire to rebirth”. Majid Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the ADIHEX Senior Organizing Committee, Secretary-General of the UAE Falcon Club and Chairman of IAF, said that the conference information seminar accompanying the exhibition is an important step to improve capacity. He pointed out that the UAE is one of the first members of IAF through membership of the UAE Falcon Club.

His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, founder of the UAE Falcon Club, thanked him for his important and effective role in protecting human heritage and sustainable hunting, which in turn led to its placement in the United Nations The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces was selected as the Honorary Chairman of the IAF in 2017, registered and granted by UNESCO.

Gary Timbrell, Chief Executive Officer of IAF, stated that the association has been participating in ADIHEX since 2004 and has witnessed significant development and extensive growth over the past few years.

He pointed out that at the same time, the International Association for the Protection of Falcons and Birds of Prey (IAF) is also growing and will include members from 90 countries/regions by 2021, compared with 35 countries/regions in 2004. Timbrell attributed this success mainly to the association’s permanent presence in the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), encouraged by the UAE Falcon Club.

For this year’s conference, Tim Blair revealed that IAF officials and volunteers from 20 countries will monitor the dialogue platform and hold special seminars, including: “Women in Falcons” and “How to Benefit from Communication Methods” , “Protecting the Falcon in North Africa (Al Maghreb)” and “Protecting the Falcon in the Levant (Bilad El-Cham)”. The results of all these workshops will be linked in the final workshop entitled “Falcon’s Future”, through which everyone who wishes to participate in the exhibition will be encouraged to play an important and effective role in this regard.
