The third race in the series took place on November 5, just over a month after the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon. It will give participants the opportunity to run a 21.1km half marathon on Yas Island’s new track, as well as 3km, 5km and 10km distances.
Aref Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said: “The new series of community races is a unique addition to the fourth ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon programme and our sporting agenda.
“It further reveals our enduring commitment to encouraging physical activity among members of society of all ages and ensures that it promotes our healthy and active lifestyle programmes to further improve Abu Dhabi’s Quality of Life Index.”
Saif Sultan Al Nasseri, Director of ADNOC Human Capital, said: “Race Series Edition provides a great opportunity for the public to train and practice their race strategies ahead of the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, which we encourage everyone to take advantage of. Delighted to support this initiative, we will continue to promote the well-being of our community through our integrative health and sports initiatives.”
In keeping with the slogan “Serving the Community, for the Community”, the event series showcases how ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2022 can drive community engagement and promote healthy lifestyles for all UAE residents.
The organizers have created a special bundle for those eager to take part in the entire Race Series. The individual entry fee for each event is AED 55, while the entry fee for the half marathon on Yas Island on November 5 is AED 175. Runners who sign up for all three events will receive a 20% discount, with prices starting from AED 115.
Additionally, those who have registered for ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon 2022 will benefit from a 30% discount code on the Race Series Edition.
Last year’s ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon attracted over 12,000 runners of all ages and abilities, in addition to a considerable number of elite international athletes. The 42.2km race was held concurrently with another 10km, 5km and 2.5km races to maximise the participation of visitors from Abu Dhabi, the wider UAE and overseas.
