The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) today announced a US$1.17 billion (AED4.3 billion) contract to charter 13 self-propelled jack-up barges to improve the efficiency of offshore operations and support the transfer of its crude oil Capacity expanded to 5 million barrels per day (mmbpd) by 2030.
The five-year contract was awarded to Adnoc Logistics & Services (Adnoc L&S) by Adnoc Offshore and reinforces the world-class capabilities of the Adnoc group of companies. Under Adnoc’s successful Domestic Value (ICV) scheme, more than 80% of the reward value will flow back to the UAE economy, supporting local economic growth and diversification.
The 13 self-propelled jack-up barges are multi-purpose assets that enable rig-free operation and maintenance, with single point of responsibility provided by Adnoc L&S for greater efficiency. The barges will be deployed at Adnoc’s offshore fields, equipped to support a wide range of operations, including project work, maintenance and accommodation.

Self-propelled jack-up barges will be hired along with manpower and equipment. These barges will be used for rigless workover and pre- and post-drilling operations, as well as topside maintenance and integrity restoration activities for our offshore assets. – arab trade news agency
