Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has signed two agreements with Japanese partners to promote the clean fuels value chain between the UAE and Japan.
ADNOC said the first agreement with Kawasaki was to explore hydrogen production, liquefaction and transport to major global markets, while the second was with Japan Metals and Energy Security Organization, Mitsui, Inpex and Clean Fuels The Ammonia Association, designed to affirm ADNOC’s Cleaner Certification for its Low Carbon Ammonia Program.
The company noted that since neither hydrogen nor ammonia emits carbon dioxide, they will play a key role in decarbonizing hard-to-abate industries.
In early 2023, ADNOC and the UAE strengthened ties with several Japanese companies.
