Afghanistan: The top US general says the army collapses quickly and unexpectedly-News

[ad_1]

General Mark Milli, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, apparently acknowledged the withdrawal from the chaos in Afghanistan and stated that the “collapse” of the Afghan army under the Taliban attack occurred much faster.

After the Taliban quickly took over Kabul, the U.S. role in Afghanistan was scanned, and the Afghan army trained by the U.S. quickly collapsed.

“The collapse of the Afghan army happened much faster, and [was] Almost everyone was very unexpected,” General Mark Milli told Fox in an interview. “Then the Afghan government collapsed. “

As the United States completed its withdrawal from Afghanistan, General Milli had earlier stated that he felt “pain and anger” over what has happened in this war-torn country in the past 20 years.

He told Fox News that one of the “lessons” of the U.S. withdrawal from this war-torn country is the trap that Afghan security forces are aware of.

“The army itself—the army and the police force are mirror images in many ways—we created and developed units that look like Western troops,” Milly said. “I think one of the important lessons learned here is that the design of these units may not be suitable for the type of mission.”

More than 25,000 Afghan refugees evacuated from Afghanistan were placed in US military bases around the world. Milley informed that the Ramstein base in Germany has processed approximately 30,000 people.

General Milli said that of the 30,000 Afghan refugees handled at the Ramstein base, about 200 are now undergoing further background checks. “I think there are hundreds of them… who are suddenly’red’,” Milly said.

In an interview with Fox News, Milly also recognized 13 American soldiers who were killed in the suicide bombing in Kabul. In addition, the senior American general also predicted that there will be a civil war in Afghanistan in the near future. “My military estimate is… the situation may develop into a civil war.”
