The inaugural edition of this dynamic tournament took place in 2017 with the International Cricket Council officially sanctioning the Abu Dhabi T10. The league’s viewership and economic value have grown significantly year-on-year, with the 2021-2022 event attracting 342 million viewers via television and digital streaming, compared to approximately 37 million viewers for the 2017 event. Furthermore, T10 was so popular that in the tournament’s sixth season in Abu Dhabi, two new teams from the United States, the New York Strikers and Morrisville SAMP Army, finished second and third respectively.

“T10 wants to have its presence felt on at least five continents. While the Middle East, Asia and Africa are locked down, we also want to have the Americas and Europe under our umbrella,” added Shaji Ul Mulk.

Not only does the T10 campaign aim to bring in more countries that do not traditionally play cricket, but it also has its eye on the Summer Olympics, the pinnacle of sport.
