Summer is coming and that means summer camp is coming too.
The Aiken Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism will host six summer camp sessions this year at the H. Odell Weeks Events Center. Summer camp will be held June 12-July 21, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with 30-minute early drop-off and late pick-up times.
Lessons are designed for children aged 5-12. Children must be within this age range when classes begin.
Each themed lesson encourages children to let their imaginations run wild. Campers will create arts and crafts, exercise, interact with special guests, field trips, conduct science experiments, swim in the Aiken City Public Pool and more. Parents must provide lunch, snacks and drinks each day. Attendees can register for one session or all six sessions. Space is limited and registration opens on Monday, April 3rd.
The weekly fee is $100 per child, except for the week of July 3-7 where it is $80. There will be no summer camps on July 4th.
The Fun Funds Youth Scholarship can be applied for to help offset camp expenses for those who qualify.
The H. Odell Weeks Event Center is located at 1700 Whiskey Road. For more information or to register, call 803-642-7631.
