Air India Express issues COVID-19 guidelines for travelers from UAE

Air India Express passengers from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to India must complete their COVID 19 vaccination doses and take other precautionary measures such as wearing face masks and maintaining physical distancing in accordance with the new COVID-19 guidelines issued by the airline.

The advisory has advised all visitors to complete immunizations as approved by their country. Under the guidelines, children under the age of 12 are exempt from random post-arrival testing.

“All guests are advised to be vaccinated according to their country’s approved main COVID-19 vaccination schedule. All guests are advised to use masks and practice physical distancing during flight/travel and all points of entry,” tweeted Air India Express, official Twitter handle special.

“Children under the age of 12 are exempt from random testing upon arrival. However, if symptoms of COVID-19 are detected on arrival or during self-monitoring, they should be tested and treated as per protocol,” the Air India Express advisory reads.

In order to strengthen its COVID-19 prevention measures, the Federal Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) announced on Thursday that at least 2% of its random sampling will be tested passenger Arrive in the country on an international flight.

In its official statement, MoCA said airlines will identify passengers and they will be allowed to leave the airport after taking a random sample. Passengers who test positive will be quarantined and their samples will be sent for genome sequencing.

Referring to random RT-PCR sampling at airports, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya of the Lok Sabha said that the government started random COVID testing of international travelers in the country at international airports. The decision follows an increase in COVID cases in countries including China, Japan, South Korea, France and the United States.
