The latest edition of the AJP Tour Asia Continental Professional Jiu-Jitsu competition, organised by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Professional Players (AJP), will be held at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena in Zayed Sports City for a week in January 2019 Saturday and Sunday.
Hundreds of players from different clubs and academies will compete over two days of intense pad competition for attractive prize money and annual AJP ranking points.
Open to all countries, the championship will attract the world’s top players to compete in the Kids, Youth, Amateur, Professional and Masters categories as they find it a great opportunity to test their skills ahead of the upcoming Jiu-Jitsu World Championships and World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Abu Dhabi.
“AJP Tour Asia Continental Pro is in line with our vision to host a series of international competitions, bringing top jiu-jitsu athletes to Abu Dhabi, the global jiu-jitsu capital,” said Mubarak Al Menhali, UAEJJF Technical Director.
“With just a few weeks to go before the opening of the World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Abu Dhabi, competitors are eager to improve their technical prowess to qualify them for competition at the highest level. The two-day event over the weekend is an ideal platform for their training and will allow them to One step closer to achieving the goal.”
In turn, AJP General Manager Tariq Al Bahri said: “Asia Continental Pro is part of a series of tournaments that AJP is running at various locations around the world. This year we plan to host five AJP tours in the UAE, attracting top players. Demand for professional championships on the Asian continent is increasing as the winner can earn 1,400 ranking points.”
Juniors (grey, yellow, orange and green), juniors (white, blue and purple)and men’s masters (blue, purple, brown and black) will be played on the first day of the tournament, while men and The women’s amateur (blue) and professional (purple, brown and black) categories will compete on the second day.
