Debra Teles, Chief Human Resources and Culture Officer at Al Ghurair Investment, has been recognized by The Economic Times (ET) for her contributions to the field of human resources. She was selected as one of the “Most Influential HR Leaders in the Middle East” at the “HR Icon Awards 2023”.
The award further demonstrates Al Ghurair Investment’s commitment to transforming the world of work, building on its recent recognition as Top Employers of the UAE 2023 by the Association of Top Employers.
Commenting on the award, Teles said: “At Al Ghurair Investment, our purpose is intrinsic and shapes everything we do, who we are and how we behave – improving the lives of all, from our people to The end. We recognize that culture is built, not bought, and that ultimately, our people are the architects of our culture.”
Since embarking on a group-wide transformation journey two years ago, Al Ghurair Investment has continued to draw on the traditional values of the founding family and look to the future by launching a ‘Fit for the Future’ model and incorporating them into the organisation’s ‘People Values Proposal’ and Talent Strategy , to engage and empower people on their career paths. The plan is aligned with the Group’s commitment to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 8), with a focus on building a corporate culture aligned with the evolving ‘future of work’ model.
Teles added: “As the ‘world of work’ continues to evolve, at Al Ghurair our philosophy is people-centred: we will continue to invest in the health, well-being and development of our people, with a thoughtful commitment to improving lives for our people .”
