Aldar Properties and Diamond Developers have announced that Sustainable City – Yas Island will go on sale on 19 January.
Open to buyers of all nationalities, the sustainable development will feature apartments and townhouses located in 10 clusters.
During the first phase of the project, 272 apartments and 240 townhouses will be put up for public sale.
Last January, the two companies announced they were forming a joint venture to develop a fully sustainable community on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.
The family-friendly development will be built along the lines of Sustainable City Dubai and build on the three pillars of sustainable development, social, environmental and economic.
As one of the few Estidama 3-pearl communities in Abu Dhabi, it will be powered by clean, renewable energy, including solar panels embedded in all parking structures, enabling residents to save up to 50% on their energy bills.
Additionally, efficient water systems, sustainable technologies, community design principles, and recycling facilities within the community will help reduce carbon emissions, water consumption, energy use, and waste.
The project has a central green spine that runs through the entire neighborhood, including parks, lakes, and bio gardens where vegetables will be grown and distributed throughout the neighborhood.
It will also feature communal facilities and amenities including an equestrian center with stables, a running track and two arenas, a gym and swimming pools, cycling and jogging tracks, football, basketball and cricket pitches, retail and F&B outlets, a nursery, a center for autism, and a green and sustainable mosque.
A network of public battery-charged buggies and bicycles will be provided so residents and visitors can move around while their cars remain parked on the outer fringes of the development.
The neighborhood’s design philosophy focuses on improving walkability and accessibility at all levels.
