Alec Baldwin did pull the trigger, FBI report says

[ad_1]

An FBI investigation concluded that Alec Baldwin did indeed pull the trigger on the gun that killed Halina Hutchins.

The cinematographer was accidentally shot and killed in October 2021 during the film Rust in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the FBI has now concluded that Baldwin, 64, must have shot.

The gun was supposed to be loaded with fake bullets, and Baldwin previously denied he pulled the trigger.

However, the report, seen by ABC News, has determined that the gun cannot fire unless the trigger is pulled.

Investigators tested the gun in various ways to see if they could fire without using the trigger. But in the end, they came to the conclusion that it was simply not possible.

Baldwin addressed the incident in a TV interview last year, when he claimed not to pull the trigger.

He said at the time: “The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger. I would never point a gun at someone and pull the trigger, never.”

The FBI report could still lead to criminal charges against the Hollywood star and others involved in the fatal accident.

Baldwin, meanwhile, previously admitted he couldn’t explain how the bullet fell into the gun.

The veteran actor said the weapon was just meant to be a prop for a Western.

“Someone put a live bullet in the gun. A bullet that shouldn’t have been on the property at all,” he said last year.

Baldwin also admitted that he is still struggling to come to terms with the tragedy.

He shared: “Even now, it’s hard for me to believe [the incident occurred]. In my opinion, this is not true. “
