Alia Bhatt expands Ed-a-Mamma operations to UAE and Europe next year

”I want to focus on expanding outward India And add more categories to the brand. We started with a children’s clothing brand and will be launching maternity clothing this year.

”I want to expand more into the baby segment. I even want to add more vertical categories in and around the home care space,” Bart when asked about her plans for the next two or three years.

Ed-a-Mamma starts in October 2020, after Bart See the lack of world-class homegrown brands that offer sustainable clothing options for kids at affordable prices.

When asked about the international business plan, the actor said “The UAE is at the top of our list. Once it starts, I think by next year we should get up in the UAE and then expand to Europe as well as. Maybe, a year after that, to focus on the rest of the world,” Bart Say.

The actor arranged for a team of 60 people to work in the company.

She said Ed-a-Mamma started with 160 options and now has more than 1,800 options, which are designed and manufactured by the company in its own factory.

”For the first two years, I didn’t associate my name with the brand to test if a product would sell itself. In the past three months, our sales have grown tenfold. Now we go into retail. We partner with Lifestyle and Shoppers Stop. By the end of the month, our products will be available in 40 stores,” Bart Say.

The actor said that beyond business, Ed-a-Mamma as a brand is more about storytelling to better understand the planet and sensitize children to it.

“You invest in children because you want them to be more planet-sensitive, and future generations should be in the same spirit. Storytelling should work in every way. While retail is part of it, education and storytelling are another part of it. This Also what I want to see,” Bart Say.
