One month after launch Inaugural Kandura Rally in Dubaithe man behind the car race has announced the second Abaya Rally Abu Dhabi. is scheduled for August 28, which is also UAE Women’s Daythe all-female rally will begin at the Yas Marina Circuit and conclude with a grand event at the Al Raha Beach Hotel.
The red carpet gala will also feature a gowned fashion show and an awards ceremony. There will also be a panel discussion with UAE electrical engineer and life coach Walaa Ahmed Al Shehhi and UAE aircraft engineer Suaad Al Shamsi.
Al Shehhi and Al Shamsi will also drive at the rally at Yas Marina Circuit.
The inaugural Abaya Rally took place in Dubai in 2020 as part of the UAE National Day celebrations on 2 December.
Founded in 2015 by Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak to recognise the efforts of Emirati women and celebrate their achievements, UAE Women’s Day Observations are made on a different theme each year. This year’s theme is “Inspiring Realities; Sustainable Futures”.
“Abaya Rally brings together women from all walks of life to show that women can have all the fun and drive an empowered, stronger and successful move towards a more sustainable world,” Pragna Vaya, Managing Director, Orbit Events Say. The event is being organised in partnership with the UAE Motor Sports Organisation.
In July, more than 100 supercars and muscle cars rolled into Dubai Digital Park for the inaugural Candura Rally.The event attracted many of the biggest names in the auto industry, as well as popular influencers like Tony Keyrouz and YouTuber Rashed Belhasa, aka Money Kicks.
It features a parade that begins at the Dubai Autodrome at 6pm, then rides past landmarks such as the Museum of the Future and Meydan Bridge, and ends with a family-friendly event at Dubai Silicon Oasis.
Dozens of cars and bikes attended the rally – Hummers, Porsches, Mini Coopers, Maseratis and Mustangs alongside some classics. Dubai police cars are also on display.
Admission to the Abaya Rally at Yas Marina Circuit is free but registration is required here.
