The locally produced indie film “All Sorts” is now available for rent or purchase on Amazon, AppleTV, GooglePlay and Vimeo.
Filmed at multiple locations in Yakima, the 94-minute film, written and directed by J. Rick Castañeda, features Yakima Valley residents.
Castañeda grew up making films at Granger and says he gets a lot of support from the community.
“‘All Sorts’ is really a community-made film,” Castaneda said in a news release. “The producer and art director lived at my parents’ house. Other family friends invited the crew to their house.”
Moviegoers in Yakima Valley red carpet movie premiere April 1st at Yakima Cinemas2022. Castañeda introduced each of the cast and crew at the event and included them in a question-and-answer session after the “All Genres” screening.
After several red carpet events in downtown Washington, “All Sorts” ran for three weeks at the Yakima Theater. It also toured the country for six months in theaters from Seattle to New Orleans.
All Sorts is a film about a lone data entry clerk who stumbles into the archiving world of champion folders. This is a quirky comedy about finding magic in everyday life. Diego, the main character, longs for a job, excitement, and love. Diego, a newcomer working at an unfamiliar company, stumbles upon a speedy filer named Joan, and the two have an unexpected office adventure.
