Amaero and Abu Dhabi firm to boost metal additive manufacturing

[ad_1]

Additive manufacturing is gaining momentum globally, but some parts of the world are less mature than others. In a major move to adopt the technology in the Middle East, Australian company Amaero International Limited, a service bureau providing metal 3D printing production, and Rabdan Industries PLC, a subsidiary of Ethmar Holdings, a diversified holding company based in Abu Dhabi, UAE announced Exclusive partnership for additive manufacturing and metal powder production in the region.

The two companies have now formed a joint venture. Together they created Falcon Advanced Materials PLC, which will form a subsidiary as the holding company. The joint venture will pursue not only metal 3D printing and metal powder production, but vertical integration of the titanium supply chain, from sponge, melting, grinding and forging operations. The capital budget for the follow-on project is A$300 million (US$203 million), including an additive manufacturing centre, large-format 3D printing and mass production of metal powders (which will include seven gas atomizers).
