Roommates, if y’all were among the millions who streamed and fell in love with the Amazon Prime original series ‘Harlem,’ you’re about to be very happy. It was just confirmed that the romantic comedy-drama series starring Meagan Good has been officially renewed for a second season.
Premiering on Amazon Prime’s video streaming service back in December, ‘Harlem’ was an instant hit with fans. It currently has a 95% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes and award nominations from both the NAACP and GLAAD Award. Set in the Black mecca of Harlem, the series stars Meagan Good, Grace Byers, Jerrie Johnson and Shoniqua Shondai.
Speaking about the show being renewed, ‘Harlem’ creator and writer Tracy Oliver was thrilled at the news. “When I walked into a bar in Harlem and overheard folks excitedly discussing the show, I knew we had a hit. ‘Harlem’ has resonated with so many people, and I’m beyond grateful to Amazon for giving it a second season. Most of all, I’m excited to reunite with the beautiful cast.”
Harlem ended its freshman season with a serious cliffhanger and now fans get to see what happens next.
As of now, there has been no word on when filming for the second season will begin or an estimated premiere date.
