Amity University Dubai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Seneca Institute of Technology, one of Canada’s largest higher education institutions, to explore international student and faculty exchanges. The signing ceremony was held at the campus of Friendship University in Dubai, UAE.
The MoU will facilitate student and faculty exchanges, develop applied research, foster innovation and entrepreneurship, create corporate and executive training opportunities, and explore the possibility of micro-credentials and pathways to new careers.
The partnership explores synergies between the two institutions, both of which have a strong focus on practical and creative projects, emphasizing employability, innovation and entrepreneurship. With an enrollment of more than 90,000 students and 10 campuses across Canada, Seneca Institute of Technology places a strong emphasis on students’ career preparation and hands-on experience, in line with the UAE’s agenda to develop the region’s human capital requirements.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Saif Al Seiari, Vice-Chancellor of Friendship University of Dubai and Prof. David Agnew, President of Seneca Institute of Technology, Dr. Fazal Malik, Vice-Chancellor of Friendship University of Dubai, Marianne Morando, Vice-Chancellor of Academics and Vice-President of Student Affairs and Seneca Institute of Technology Strategy Renata Dinnocenzo. Other dignitaries in attendance at the signing ceremony included Lindsay Margenau, Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Canadian Consulate General in Dubai, and Dr. Nitesh Sughnani, Director of the University Rankings, Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA).
