Ams OSRAM sells its entertainment lighting business Clay Paky to ARRI AG

OSRAM announced that it has reached a definitive agreement to sell its Clay Paky entertainment lighting business to Germany-based Arri Group. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.

Founded in 1976 and acquired by Osram in 2014, Clay Paky, headquartered in Seriate, Italy, is recognized as the world’s leading supplier and global reference brand in the professional high-end entertainment lighting market.

Clay Paky strengthens its technology leadership with LED and laser-based product portfolio expansion and offers award-winning products for mobile body and mobile mirror projectors, color changers, follow spots, projectors and various lighting effects combination. Clay Paky is the leading partner of the world’s most famous entertainers, global events and theaters.

ARRI AG, headquartered in Munich, Germany, is a leading designer and manufacturer of camera and lighting systems as well as system solutions for the film, broadcast and media industries, with a worldwide distribution and service network.

“The acquisition of Clay Paky is a strategic long-term investment in our lighting business,” said Dr. Matthias Erb, CEO of ARRI. “Clay Paky has a strong reputation in the entertainment lighting market, while ARRI is recognized as a leading manufacturer in film and broadcast lighting.”
