Amy Adams was the ‘catalyst’ for the ‘Magic’ sequel.
The 48-year-old actress reprises her starring role as Gisele Phillips in the follow-up to the 2007 Disney film, which will be released exclusively on Disney+ on November 18, and producer Barry Josephson says Amy is The reason the movie came out was ground.
He told SFX’s Red Alert: “No one knows the first movie better than she does.
“She’s very, very knowledgeable, shrewd and creative with fairy tales.
“She came up with some great concepts along the way, got us to make a script, and when the studio read it, they were very engaged.”
The Red Invention star, who has teased fans before, can expect more singing and dancing.
She said: “[The film features]more singing and more dancing, which is humbling.
“The last time I actually danced until I needed to dance, I was in my 20s, and now I’m not in my 20s.
“It doesn’t feel the same when you’re in your 40s. In my mind, when I dance, I look like I’m in my 20s, and then I’ll watch the replay and be like, ‘Wow, that’s different.'”
Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, and Idina Menzel are all back, with Maya Rudolph joining as the new villain Malvina, and Amy hinting at “a lot of fun” between the two.
The “American Hustle” star said: “She played the bad guy, so we had a lot of fun together.”
