How about it holiday shopping have you gone?

I admit I’m underpowered this year, but wait a minute: I’ve decided to give the gift of great new content. You’re welcome!

Seriously, I wish I could go back and do a better job this holiday season.speak of time travelto check out some new streaming options.

‘relatives’

If you are not familiar with post work Octavia E. Butlernow is the time for a change.

Butler, who died in 2006 at the age of 58, was widely hailed as the most important black sci-fi writer of her time, if not of all time – responsible for illuminating the diversity of the genre, broadening the stories told and the voices telling them . That’s why there has long been interest in seeing her work come to life.

Her 1979 novel Kinship is now A new series of gourds. It tells the story of an aspiring black writer who travels from 70’s Los Angeles back to 18th century slave plantations. It’s about trauma, history, and what really connects you.

The limited series is now airing.

“Bake It” Season 2

Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler in season 2 promotional photos

This show made me cross Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler off my list of interview stars. It’s also about the cake, so a win-win.

The pair are hosting the second season of The Bake Off at Peacock. “As moms of two, we thought it would be fun to bring it along,” rudolph joked“So we just brought it: bigger, badder, dirtier. More like a violent, explosive bake.”

She’s serious – have a cake with a bang.

“Baking It” is playing.

‘Who Killed Santa Claus? Murderville Murder Mystery’

Rudolph is back for this new Netflix special.

In festive detective story, Will Arnett is reenacting his “Murderville” character, eccentric detective Terry Seattle. With the help of Rudolph and a second celebrity guest star, Jason Bateman, it’s up to him to find out who’s pissed off Mr. Claus.

There’s just one problem — Bateman and Rudolph were not given a script and had to improvise their way around the case. Just in time for the seasons, eh?

It’s streaming now on Netflix.

Frank Zappa performing at the Garrick Theater in New York on June 10, 1967.

Frank Zappa’s “Waka/Wazoo” is the perfect holiday gift for all the Zappa fans in your life.

Zappa, who died in 1993, was an innovative musician who still has a cult following. The five-disc collection combines his two solo albums “Waka/Jawaka” and “The Grand Wazoo”.

“Waka/Wazoo” is out now.

NCT Dream performed at the 11th Gaon Chart Music Awards in Seoul on January 27.

NCT Dream may not be as famous as some of their compatriots kpop idol – looking at you, BTS – but they still have their fans, and for good reason.

While technically a “subgroup” of the larger NCT boy band, NCT Dream is a full-fledged sextet in its own right. The group will also release a six-track EP titled “Candy” this week, following the release of their second full-length album “Glitch Mode” earlier this year.

based on Tweets announcing the record Back in November, it was very holiday oriented – that’s when you’d find that “candy” in your Christmas stocking.

It’s out now too.

From left: Elon Musk and Dave Chappelle.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell if Dave Chappelle is tone-deaf or just doesn’t care.

He recently brought a surprise guest to a comedy show in San Francisco that drew attention: Elon Musk.

Just say it. . . enough, Not everyone likes Musk right now. Still, the audience reaction seemed to take both men by surprise. Musk’s appearance on stage was loudly booed.

Now, Chappelle is someone who definitely knows what it’s like Offend public opinion – and revel in it. So while it makes sense for him to be openly linked to Musk, it also makes sense to see what happens next. The poor response led Chappelle to do the most Chappelle thing ever — he lectured to his own audience.

“Hushing is not the best thing you can do,” he said. “I hope that the joy of freedom is felt by everyone in this auditorium, and may your pursuit of happiness set you free. Amen.”

I suggest that there’s nothing more liberating than expressing how you feel in the moment—whether it’s cheering or laughing. I believe that many people are willing to share their views on Musk.

Alicia Keys attends the 2022 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 2 in New York City.

Alicia Keys has one too The holiday album is out now.

This time of year is all about classical music.Just this week, some colleagues and I commented on the perfect soundtrack “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” The holidays didn’t really become my holidays until I heard a song from that album, or any song by an artist like Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, or Eartha Kitt, just to name a few. (By the way, you can hear me and Don Lemon raving about Kitt here).

But I love that artists are still adding to the genre today. Keys’ new album, titled “Santa Baby,” features covers of Kitt’s most famous songs. Classics don’t come overnight, but it’s nice to see new traditions — and new takes on old ones — captivate generations to come.
