From Angela Bassett’s new hardware to Ryan Reynolds’ new campaign, here’s what’s happening in entertainment.

It’s been nearly 30 years since Angela Bassett was first nominated for an Oscar, and now the Academy will honor her with a statue.
Bassett won her first Oscar for playing the late Tina Turner in the 1993 film What does love have to do with it? she lost out to holly hunter for the role piano. This year she was nominated again for Best Supporting Actress Black Panther: Wakanda Forever but lost out to jamie lee curtis in the movie everything happens at the same time. Now, the Academy will present Bassett with an honorary Oscar at the Governor’s Awards in November. “During her decades-long career, Angela Bassett has consistently delivered performances of excellence, setting new standards in the acting world,” said Dean of the Academy, Janet Yang.
Other honorable mentions include Mel Brooks and film editor Carol Littleton. The Gene Hershott Humanitarian Award will be presented to Michelle Sutter of the Sundance Institute.

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry is about to release a new documentary.
The project is called underestimatedA look at the legendary and ongoing career of the “Babyface Assassin” and how he became the greatest shooter in the history of basketball. The story is brought to life with help from producers Ryan Coogler and Peter Nix. It all started with Curry’s 2009 draft, when he was the seventh overall pick in the first round.
The film opens in select theaters on July 21 and begins streaming on AppleTV+.
Ryan Reynolds F1
As the sport grows, Formula 1 will receive investment from some of the biggest names.
Actor and serial investor Ryan Reynolds invited a few of his close friends to buy a stake in F1 team Alpine. Other A-listers on board include Michael B. Jordan and Rob McElhenney, who co-owns Wrexham AFC football with Reynolds.
Alpine is already poised for success; it is in the top five for the 2022 season.
