Sad news broke late Tuesday that fashion icon André Leon Talley died at the age of 73. Many mourned as they reflected on his contributions to the fashion industry. Now Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is speaking openly about André’s death.
Earlier on Wednesday, Anna, who had worked with Andre for many years, broke her silence and spoke out after his death.In a statement, the statement was published on Fashion, Anna said, “Andre’s passing is felt by many of us today: he passionately cheered designers every season and loved him for it; he inspired generations to work in the industry, watch to a character who pushes boundaries but never forgets his heart; those who understand fashion, and Fashion, just because of him. “
She continued: “Don’t forget that, over the years, numerous colleagues have cheered Andrei’s every new discovery, discussing it loudly and eloquently – no one has done more to convince people of the seemingly insignificant. Her statement followed many on Twitter expressing their disappointment at Vogue’s delay in acknowledging Andre’s death after it announced Tuesday night.
