Apple Al Maryah Island introduces several new design elements that reflect its surroundings. On the promenade, two ramps paved with Absolute Black granite stone—a first for an Apple Store—weave through the flow of water and flow seamlessly through the store, blurring the lines between inside and outside. The store also features a gold carbon fiber roof sourced locally in the UAE. Visitors entering from The Galleria Al Maryah Island Mall will pass through a mirrored stainless steel portal surrounded by the sound of water jets pouring down the exterior glass walls. A 72-foot-long mirrored foil ceiling creates a kaleidoscopic effect, with water running down the wall and reflections visible above.
Upon entering, guests are greeted with extraordinary panoramic views of Abu Dhabi’s skyline. Looking up, customers will also find a unique ceiling made of stretched gold fabric. Glass walls bring in natural light and banyan trees add greenery to the interior. An innovative radiant floor system combined with displacement ventilation helps to cool the building.
The store will welcome its first visitors on Friday, February 25th at 5pm local time. With the health and well-being of customers and team members as the top priority for Apple, the store will implement comprehensive health measures and visit Apple Al Maryah Island on opening day by appointment only.Customers can choose when they are available apple.com/ae/almaryahisland.
