Arab Health 2023 Launches Smart Health Pavilion

Arab Health 2023 launched the Smart Health Pavilion, showcasing how multiple technologies can seamlessly interoperate and coexist with medical devices to improve the patient experience.

Created in partnership with the Intelligent Health Association (IHA), the pavilion allows visitors to experience live use cases of the latest advances in sustainable healthcare technologies across the care continuum.

The Smart Health Pavilion will run at Dubai World Trade Center until 2 February 2023, immersing visitors in live demonstrations, including a groundbreaking digital intensive care unit, a smart operating theater and a revolutionary emergency room, allowing visitors to Experience every step in the patient, caregiver or provider’s personal health journey.

Paul H Frisch, Attending Physician, Department of Medical Physics; Director of Biomedical Physics and Engineering, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, said: “Today, the healthcare environment is not technology in isolation. In fact, today’s hospitals use many devices that are not medical devices, Examples include RFID and tablet PCs. The focus now is on how to integrate these technologies and how to share information, which directly impacts how hospitals operate.

“In the Smart Health Pavilion, operators and clinicians can see how these technologies work in a real-world environment, provide new metrics that many hospitals don’t have access to, and demonstrate how these technologies are integrated. From a business perspective, through interactive Operationally, hospitals can monitor workflows and make optimizations and process improvements in medical care and delivery and their operational processes and management.

Harry P Pappas, Founder and CEO of the Intelligent Health Association, said: “We developed the Intelligent Health Pavilion concept to educate the healthcare community on how these technologies can be adopted to improve patient care, patient safety and the overall patient experience. The continuum of care is highlighted, and the benefits of a seamless data environment are highlighted.

Wearable device

“Today, wearable devices such as smartphones and smartwatches can capture data from patients and share it seamlessly with their circle of care — family, doctors, insurance companies.”

The Smart Health Pavilion showcased a range of new technologies, including wearable finger sensors that monitor vital signs in the ICU without the need for invasive wires, catheters or arm cuffs, advanced digital stethoscopes that allow clinicians to listen to auscultation sounds through wired stethoscopes or more Wireless earphones that amplify heart and breath sounds, double noise reduction technology and recording function.

Also featured is a newborn protection solution that uses real-time location systems (RTLS) to quickly and efficiently respond to hospital kidnapping attempts. — TradeArabia News Service
