On 14 July 2022, Arab Abu Dhabi Airways, the first low-cost airline in the UAE capital, celebrated its second year of successful operation, carrying over 800,000 passengers on approximately 7,600 flights on 24 routes .
Over the past two years, the airline’s fleet has grown from two Airbus A320s at launch to eight new planes today, with more expected to join the fleet by the end of the year.

The next day, the second flight of Air Arabia Abu Dhabi flew from the UAE capital to the Nile city of Sohag. The airline started operations at Abu Dhabi International Airport with two Airbus A320 aircraft, offering the same value for money products and services as Air Arabia Group. The airline’s route network grew to 24 routes across Egypt, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Nepal, Sudan, Pakistan, Oman, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Georgia.
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, an independent joint venture formed following an agreement between Etihad Airways and Air Arabia, will operate as a low-cost passenger airline from a hub at Abu Dhabi International Airport. The capital’s first low-cost airline follows Air Arabia’s business model and complements the services of Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways, catering to the region’s growing low-cost travel market.
Air Arabia Abu Dhabi Airways operates the Airbus A320-200 aircraft, the most modern and best-selling single-aisle aircraft in the world. With 174 seats, the aircraft has one of the widest seat pitches of any economy class, thus providing extra comfort.
The plane is also equipped with “SkyTime,” a free in-flight streaming service that allows passengers to stream a variety of entertainment programs directly to their devices. Eligible passengers can also take advantage of the Abu Dhabi Market Jet Service, where they can drop off their luggage and receive their boarding pass at the Air Arabia Abu Dhabi outlet on Hamdan Street before their flight. – arab trade news agency
