As Gitex opens, tech companies reveal Web 3.0 possibilities

[ad_1]

International pioneers of the Web 3.0 economy have come to Dubai to bring many unprecedented experiences and technological innovations to power the next digital revolution at Gitex Global 2022, the world’s largest tech event, which opens today.

The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) will host the global tech ecosystem until 14 October, with more than 1,000 thought-provoking speakers and more than 5,000 companies from 90 countries spanning 26 halls and 2 million square feet of exhibition space.

Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, delivered the opening keynote address today on the main stage of Sheikh Rashid Hall.

He emphasized that the UAE and Dubai believe in the power of globalization and creating an ecosystem where people can thrive.

Al Olama highlighted how Gitex Global continues to grow amid turbulence and uncertainty in the global tech industry. He concluded his speech by reiterating that the conversations taking place at the event would generate “sparks” that would change the world.

A new paradigm for artificial intelligence

HUAWEI CLOUD Chief AI Scientist Dr. Tian Qi delivered his first speech in the Middle East, with an informative session on the new paradigm of AI on the main stage of Gitex on the first day. Dr. Qi highlighted the enormous potential that AI can hold for the scientific community, emphasizing that AI can speed up computing times by at least 10,000 times, and can help better predict weather patterns and support the discovery of new drugs.

Unlock the potential of the Metaverse

In interviews with Sébastien Borget, co-founder and COO of The Sandbox, and Mike Butcher, contributing editor at TechCrunch, the issue of virtual asset ownership came into focus. Borget said the future of virtual worlds must allow users who own digital assets to freely decide how to use or sell those assets. He added that Web 3.0 and blockchain are an opportunity to reclaim ownership of assets. One of Sandbox’s goals is to showcase what’s possible, which is why it’s co-created with brands like Atari so they can have their own space, launch their own gamified experiences and publish content with the community, co-create and expand their Brand creativity.

Building trust in virtual assets

Speaking on the Gitex main stage, Mastercard’s President, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Dimitrios Dosis said that Mastercard’s investment in CipherTrace provides insight into cryptocurrencies and provides transparency rather than anonymity, which in turn enhances consumer trust .

In addition, he added that Mastercard, the strategic sponsor of Fintech Surge 2022, which will take place on October 13, is also working with small and medium-sized companies to help them obtain cybersecurity insurance. – arab trade news agency
