Service roads will be built on both sides of the road and turned to serve other sports and development projects. These projects are expected to be completed in the second half of next year.
The project includes improving Al Meydan Road and Dubai-Al Ain Road and connecting them to Al Manama Road. A four-lane bridge in each direction will be constructed to connect Al Manama Road and Al Meydan Road. The existing bridges on Al Meydan Road and Dubai-Al Ain Road will be upgraded to serve the Meydan development project.
The Dubai-Al Ain road improvement project also includes the construction of auxiliary roads on both sides of the road to improve safety. The six intersections of the project will help smooth traffic and serve the residential communities on both sides of the road such as Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Park Residential District, Liwan, Meydan and Dubai Design District. The total length of the six intersections of the project is 6,600 meters, and the span of all bridges is 4,900 meters. The project includes improving the intersections with Emirates Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Road, Nad Al Sheba, Al Meydan and Ras Al Khor. The old bridge on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road has been improved. The Dubai-Al Ain Road has been widened from 3 lanes in each direction to 6 lanes, and auxiliary roads have been built on both sides of the road. A 220-meter-long two bridges were built at the junction of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Road and Dubai-Al Ain Road to provide U-turn functions for motorists from Dubai.
