Hinduja Group’s flagship company Ashok Leyland said on Thursday it had secured an order to supply 1,400 school buses in the United Arab Emirates, the largest order the company has ever received in the country.

The 55-seater Falcon bus and the 32-seater Oyster bus will be supplied by Ashok Leyland’s US$50 million state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, which is the only certified local bus manufacturing facility in the GCC countries, the company said in a statement. claimed in.

The plant has an annual installed capacity of 4,000 passenger cars, and since it started operations in 2008, the company has launched 25,500 passenger cars from the manufacturing division.

“Ashok Leyland is one of the fastest growing brands in the Middle East with a growing market presence in the UAE. Our lowest total cost of ownership and strong after-sales support set us apart and helped us win these orders,” said Company International Director of Operations, Amandeep Singh said.
