The Institute of Public Health (IPH), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University, is seeking the appointment of a full-time faculty member to contribute to its teaching and research activities in infectious diseases/infectious disease control and public health, including epidemiology, prevention , disease management, surveillance, immunizations, emergency planning, chemical and radiological hazards, and outbreak preparedness. We want to appoint a suitable candidate with the training, experience and accomplishments to address the challenges of infectious disease in the face of an increasingly global threat to the community. Academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications.
minimum qualification
Applicants must hold a medical degree and should have a professional credential (consultant/specialist in infectious diseases) from the Arab Council, ACOEM (USA), FPH (UK) or an equivalent medical board from Europe, Australasia or South Africa. Applicants should have experience in infectious disease/infectious disease epidemiology, outbreak investigation, public health practice for vaccine-preventable diseases, academic and research experience, and overall academic experience in teaching and research in these areas.

As above in addition to MBBS (MD) – PhD in Public Health or Epidemiology or equivalent.
Expected skills/level/experience
Applicants should have a teaching record (at least three years) at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including designing courses, supervising courses and supervising student projects. Successful candidates will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, including MPH and PhD programs and professional training. IPH has a thriving postgraduate taught program and currently has over 30 PhD students and 40 MPH students. In addition, candidates should be accomplished in conducting and supervising research projects. He(s)he is expected to publish their research results in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. A key requirement for successful candidates is that they be able to serve as Principal Investigators on research projects related to the health of the UAE working community. Successful candidates will have ample opportunities to collaborate with colleagues from the Faculty of Medicine and other UAEU faculties, as well as local and regional institutions. Specific skills in developing strong links and collaborations with other educational institutions, health authorities, government agencies and others in the UAE and the wider region will be considered a significant advantage.
