Atlanta Hawks beat Milwaukee Bucks

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Trae Young scored just 31 points in the first half to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 118-109 victory in the second of two games in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. beat the Milwaukee Bucks.

Young made 11 of 15 shots. But it was his 3-pointer, sometimes over 30 feet, that he seemed to score at will, going 7-for-9 from the field. He also had 6 assists in 20 minutes.

As Young started the second half, Atlanta opened the third quarter with a 10-1 run to extend the lead to double digits. DeAndre Hunter had 21 points for the Hawks. AJ Griffin, the 16th overall pick in last summer’s draft, had 13 points.

Lindell Wigginton led Milwaukee with 16 points. Bobby Portis Jr. had 15 points and Jrue Holiday added 12 for the Bucks. Holiday also had four assists and four rebounds in 18 minutes.

The Eagles had a 23-point advantage in the second half, and then the Bucks reserves pushed the score even closer in the fourth quarter.

The Bucks, who played without leader Giannis Antetokounmpo, rested after Game 1 in Abu Dhabi. They are still waiting for Khris Middleton to recover from offseason left wrist surgery.

Atlanta, who won Game 1 123-113 in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, was without Dejounte Murray, who was sidelined with back spasms after scoring 25 points in the opener.
