An Austin-based home entertainment chain plans to bring bowling balls, laser tags and throwing axes to a large master-planned development in Allen.
High 5 Entertainment has purchased more than 3 acres of frontage at Allen Farms, a new development on the south side of the intersection of State Highway 121, the Sam Rayburn Turnpike and Alma Road.
The company plans to open a two-story family entertainment center at the location in late fall 2023, which will include 24 bowling lanes, a two-story laser tag arena, ax throwing, bowling lounge, event space, escape room and A miniature golf course. The venue will offer craft food and beverages.
Founded by Jennifer and Scott Emley, High 5 opened its first location in Lakeway near Austin in January 2016. In 2018, the company opened a second location in downtown Austin.
Allen’s FarmDeveloped by Allen-based JaRyCo Development LLC, it plans to have 1.6 million square feet of office space, 142,000 square feet of retail space, a 150-room hotel, 60,000 square feet of restaurants and 2,400 residential units. The development will feature a 1.5-acre lake, boardwalk restaurant, more than 2.5 miles of hiking and biking trails, 16 acres of greenbelt along Watters Creek and four other park areas.
High 5 will be next hub, another new entertainment venue including a restaurant space, event lawn space, plaza and dining pavilion. The concept originated near the Florida waterfront.
