The AV theater, known for bringing Bible stories to more than 30 million people on stage, now aims to do the same on the silver screen.
Last month, Sight & Sound announced the latest expansion of its division Sight & Sound Films. After five years of staging stories in theaters in Branson and Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the company is taking its craft from the big stage to the big screen.
Sight & Sound Films’ debut feature film “I Hear the Bells” will be released in December 2022. The film will share the inspiring true story behind the famous Christmas carol of the same name, as well as the life of its author, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
“Known as an American poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow lived an idyllic life—until the day his world was destroyed by tragedy,” says the film synopsis. “The country was torn by the civil war, his family torn apart, and Henry put down his pen, silent with grief. But it was the voice of Christmas morning that rekindled the poet’s lost voice, as he found a resounding hope of rekindling his faith.”
With a long-time talented team of writers, actors, engineers, builders and even animal trainers, adding filmmaking to the Sight & Sound family is the next step in presenting inspiring true stories to the world.

The audio-visual film will focus on the true stories of historical figures who have had a major impact on history through their beliefs.
