The AV theater, known for bringing Bible stories to more than 30 million people on stage, now aims to do the same on the silver screen.

Last month, Sight & Sound announced the latest expansion of its division Sight & Sound Films. After five years of staging stories in theaters in Branson and Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the company is taking its craft from the big stage to the big screen.

Sight & Sound Films’ debut feature film “I Hear the Bells” will be released in December 2022. The film will share the inspiring true story behind the famous Christmas carol of the same name, as well as the life of its author, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

“Known as an American poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow lived an idyllic life—until the day his world was destroyed by tragedy,” says the film synopsis. “The country was torn by the civil war, his family torn apart, and Henry put down his pen, silent with grief. But it was the voice of Christmas morning that rekindled the poet’s lost voice, as he found a resounding hope of rekindling his faith.”

With a long-time talented team of writers, actors, engineers, builders and even animal trainers, adding filmmaking to the Sight & Sound family is the next step in presenting inspiring true stories to the world.

“This multi-generational, family-entertainment ministry started out as a touring multimedia show, so in many ways, making a movie feels like we’re coming back,” said Josh Enck, president and chief story officer of Sight & Sound. Origin.” “Not only are we excited to expand into this new medium, we’re also excited to venture into new stories from pages of the past waiting to be told.”

The audio-visual film will focus on the true stories of historical figures who have had a major impact on history through their beliefs.

“It’s an honor that God has given us this opportunity to share our passion for stories of faith off stage,” said Matt Neff, CEO of Sight & Sound. “We hope these films will rise above the hustle and bustle of culture. , bringing hope, truth and inspiration to the screen.
