US rapper Azealia Banks has been slammed by entertainment reporter Peter Ford for calling Australia a “racist” and vowing never to return.

The bank canceled her dramatically Brisbane Playing at the last minute on Tuesday, said her last performance there was the most “racist” and “moralizing” experience of her life.

Veteran reporter Ford couldn’t hide his displeasure when reporting on Banksy’s outburst on Wednesday morning, telling The Morning Show: “I think she might be taking a strong cough medicine”.

“She’s never coming back, we’re a racist country, and she can’t wait to get out,” Ford said sarcastically.

Ford noted that Banks vowed never to play in Israel in 2018, citing “racism,” when she went through a routine security check at Ben Gurion Airport.

The Israel Airports Authority said at the time that Banks was treated like any other tourist.

Ford continued: “She had no evidence to support what she said, but I think she was probably on strong cough medicine and didn’t enjoy the visit at all.”

“Last year she was photographed digging up her dead cat in her backyard and cooking it, so it’s a very peculiar artist,” he added.

Ford was referring to a disturbing video Banksy uploaded in January 2021 that showed the rapper digging up the bagged remains of her dead pet cat.

She later hit back at critics of the sick video, accusing them of being “racist” and writing on Instagram: “This is a very unimportant life for all of you”.

Later on Thursday, Ford lashed out at Banks again on a radio show 3AWcalling the situation “very tragic.”

“She didn’t give an example at all of why she was racist. But obviously, we are a racist country. She told her millions of followers that it really sucks for us,” he lamented.

“It would have been nice if she had given examples, but she doesn’t do that at all,” he continued, before adding: “It would have been better if she had gone.”

Banksy, known for her song 212, declined Tuesday to Brisbane.

In a tweet, she wrote: “I’m sorry y’all – I’m not sorry actually – but listen: last time I was in Brisbane you all threw shit on stage almost damn *** Hit me in the face with a fucking bottle of soda or something.

“That was the most racist and frustrating experience of my fucking life, and now I’m on a really good track.”

“I’m so far from home… I’m a beautiful black woman and I’m not going to be in front of some white audience lest they throw shit at me.” I’m so sorry.

“I’m not sorry at all.”

The incident put an end to a disastrous tour as planned shows in Melbourne and Sydney were postponed due to “visa issues”.

In 2013, Banksy was the target of Australian fans who threw objects at her on stage, later calling the Australian audience “violent and belligerent”.

Banksy apparently agreed to compete on the 2022 Brisbane tour after she was initially reluctant to tighten security but later backed off, claiming her request had been ignored.

“After this run, this will be my last tour of Australia,” she said.

“This place makes me miserable, I’m too dark and too pretty to have a bunch of white guys play their weak ** currency with me in front of me.”
