Back to school in Abu Dhabi: Students of all ages must take the Covid PCR test-News

[ad_1]

All private and charter school students in Abu Dhabi must undergo a nasal PCR or saliva test within 14 days of returning to face-to-face study, and the result will be negative. This rule applies regardless of the student’s age or vaccination status. It is also suitable for determined students.

The same procedure applies to teachers, administrators, and third-party contractors.

This is because the Ministry of Education and Knowledge (Adek) of Abu Dhabi announced the PCR test requirements for students before the new school year of 2021/22.

A free Covid-19 PCR test will be provided to students, faculty and staff over the age of 12 at a designated testing center on a specific date in each school. Adek has sent PCR test schedules to all schools to ensure that students, teachers, and staff receive the results on time.

Parents can contact the school to get their school code, test center location and date. Alternatively, students 12 years and older can take the PCR test at any private center at their own expense.

Students under the age of 12 and determined students can take a free Covid-19 pre-entry PCR test at any private or public testing center in Abu Dhabi. They can choose saliva testing as an alternative to nasal PCR testing. Students must present a valid UAE ID card and explain to the medical staff that they will take the pre-semester entrance exam at the test center.

Adek stated that the schedule and frequency of routine PCR testing for faculty, staff and students will be announced “in due course.”
