As more than 1 million students return to school, experts emphasize the need to pack healthy lunch boxes to ensure effective nutrition.
Dubai Municipality (DM) guidelines show that there is strong scientific evidence to support the link between healthy eating, physical activity and academic success. Children who eat healthier foods and are physically active tend to be more focused in class and have better memory, according to reports.
Meanwhile, some doctors have reported a decline in childhood obesity rates over the past few months. They attribute it to the UAE government’s firm stance on the pandemic.
In an interview with KT last week, DM officials revealed their strategy to bring lasting nutritional change to food culture through school cafeterias.
