He’s back again – this time with a festive torch.
“We’re creating what’s called a pop-up bar,” Hoffman said. “You take a bar and decorate it. Then you decorate it again—and you add more. It becomes the most decorated bar you’ll ever see.”
He calls it the “Blitzen Bar”. It’s not just a decoration explosion. Hoffman also plans family-friendly and adults-only holiday events to refuel.
The Rec Center will host a food and toy event with visits from Santa, the Grinch, Bad Santa and more, as well as college nights and trivia nights.
These events start this weekend and run through the holidays and into January.
“If there’s an opportunity to start a new family tradition, this is it,” Hoffman said. “It’s going to be big.”
Hoffman said he started planning “Blitzen Bar” in 2019 but had to postpone it in 2020 and 2021 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He got the idea from a visit to Wrigleyville, Chicago. Outside of baseball season, the area is usually quiet — but the pop-up bar has changed that, Hoffman said.
“They’ve decorated these bars so much that it’s become a destination,” Hoffman said. “They have waiting lines and service charges.”
Bam will serve festive drinks and use Christmas-themed plates and cups, Hoffman said.
The business had a soft opening on Friday 18th November and a grand opening on Saturday 19th November. For more information, please visit gobamgo.com/bam-blitzen-bar.
