The transfer market for the top five leagues may have closed, but several leagues around the world remain open. For example, the league in the United Arab Emirates is still open and they are trying to get one of the best midfielders from the 2010s.
according to Fabrizio Romano, UAE side Sharjah Football Club has issued a three-year offer to sign Miralem Pjanic on a permanent deal. Barcelona have no problem with Bosnia and Herzegovina leaving, the final decision is left to the players themselves.
Xavi has twice previously commented on Pjanic’s future, saying he was “nice” to stay with Pjanic because he had persuaded him during preseason and training.
“PJanic can help us a lot. He suits the way we play, he’s going to compete with Busquets, Frankie and Casey. All four of them have a hard time getting minutes,” Xavi speaks ahead of Sevilla clash.
It was reported in the last week of the window that Nasser was interested in Pjanic’s signature. The player also appears to be keen on transfers, with his agent constantly walking back and forth in the Barcelona office.
However, President of Al-Nassr refutes rumours before it’s too late to claim their “Next season’s team is done”.
Currently, he is one of only three players in the squad who has yet to play a minute in La Liga. Gerard Pique and Memphis Depay are the other two.
This was especially surprising as fans witnessed Pjanic coming off the bench for Busquets in pre-season and were expected to face Real Sociedad on the second matchday after the captain’s red card against Vallecano .
Barca have apparently given the veteran the green light to make a final decision on his future. They won’t get any transfer fees from the deal but still feel the move is in the best interests of all parties – Pjanic can play and Barcelona can deduct more wages from their bills.
