LAS VEGAS, Nevada (WILX) – Gray Television, the parent company of WILX, announced Tuesday that BEAT THE ODDS, a weekly 30-minute sports betting and entertainment show, will premiere on more than 100 Gray stations beginning September 2.
BEAT THE ODDS will feature news, data and analysis combined with legendary sports and betting stories. Designed to educate and entertain bettors and sports fans of all levels, it combines expert input from nationally recognized analysts with stories of sports and betting history focused on oddsmakers and risk takers.
The show will be produced by the WILX sister station FOX5 KVVU-TV and Tupelo Media Group in Las Vegas.
“BEAT THE ODDS exposes the public to two of the most popular aspects of sports: betting analysis and engaging storytelling,” said Michael Korr, vice president and general manager of FOX5.
Veteran FOX5 news anchor Dave Hall will host, and expert handicapers “Fat Jack” Ross and “Teddy Covers” Sevransky will join the studio as well as Super Bowl champion Brandon Marshall and traveling reporter Mariah Janos.
Ross has been a leading sports analyst for 20 years, sometimes referred to as the Half Stout. His national weekly radio show “The Fat Jack Sports Hour” can be found on radio stations across the United States. He is also a regular contributor to SIRIUS XM.
Sevransky, known as “Teddy Covers,” is a professional sports bettor and broadcast TV analyst.
Brandon Marshall earned his ring as linebacker in Super Bowl 50 when the Denver Broncos beat the New England Patriots.
Cary Glotzer, CEO of Tupelo Media Group, said they will produce a different kind of sports programming.
Glotzer said: “It will provide sports bettors with top-notch analysis and information, and be very entertaining, featuring the history of sports and how sports have impacted culture. That’s why we developed the show – to create a place that really appeals to sports and betting A fan’s format.”
