Beautyworld Middle East 2022 achieves double-digit growth

Middle East Beauty WorldThe region’s largest trade show for beauty, hair, fragrance and wellness products, the show will return in 2022 with double-digit year-over-year growth as increased exhibitor participation sets the stage for one of its most successful shows to date foundation.

This year’s show, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from 31 October to 2 November, is the 26th edition of the Frankfurt Messe annual series, with bookings of over 90% and the number of exhibitors expected to exceed 1,400, compared to last year 891 in total.

While this year’s Middle East Beauty World is expected to feature 65 countries, it will also feature 27 country pavilions, including Singapore, China, Taiwan, Morocco and Tunisia returning after a 2021 absence. Pavilion space is also increasing, with Thailand and the U.S. doubling space from last year, and Germany’s participation up 65 percent as the show occupies a larger, more prominent place on the global beauty industry calendar.

“With a 22% increase in exhibiting countries, a 34% increase in exhibiting companies and a 42% increase in net floor space, we have seen incredible growth numbers at this year’s show,” said Flyn Roberts, the show’s director of Beautyworld Middle East.

“The need for sustainable, advanced beauty technology is changing the industry and this is a huge prospect for this year’s show, where we are on track to top last year’s 31,000 industry visitors.”

Technology and sustainability are transforming the beauty industry in the 21st century and further boosting the prospects of the beauty and personal care market in the Middle East and Africa, which Euromonitor International has estimated will grow to a total value of US$58.3 billion (Dh214.11 billion). this year’s programspread across 14 lobbies instead of 11, the Beauty Tech section will return, offering players ready to embrace game-changing technology a dedicated area to focus on new business opportunities.

Beauty Tech was featured at this year’s show along with six other major product segments, namely Cosmetics and Skincare; Personal Care and Hygiene; Hair, Nails and Salon Supplies; Machinery, Packaging, Raw Materials, Contract Manufacturing; Fragrance Compounds and Finished Fragrances; and natural organic cosmetics.

As the industry undergoes dramatic change, the show’s three-day Exploring Next in Beauty conference will explore innovation, retail solutions, sustainability, market trends and future products that will improve business performance and allow brands to better engage with customers build connection.

“This year’s conference speaker lineup is a truly multinational gathering, from e-commerce leaders to industry innovators such as sustainability consultants, brand developers, industry commentators and product innovators,” added Roberts. “Delegates will leave with an informed view of where their industry is headed and how to best achieve its potential.”

Acclaimed British perfumer Jo Malone CBE will take to the stage at Beautyworld in the Middle East to detail her inspirational journey from artisan start to global success as part of the Next in Beauty conference.

Malone, who has achieved global success with her Jo Malone London and Jo Loves brands, will be a keynote speaker at the region’s largest international trade fair for beauty, hair, fragrance and wellness.

In a one-on-one conversation with Lauren O’Connell, the magazine’s beauty editor Metropolis Middle EastMalone, described as a British scent maverick, will also showcase her new Fragrance Tapas in-store experience.

“I’m excited to be in the region and share my story and creativity,” said Malone, an ambassador for the UK Department for International Trade’s GREAT campaign, which aims to bring the best of Britain to the world. “I love being around a lot of like-minded entrepreneurs and learning a lot of new things, I’m excited to help build this area and excited about other places we’ll be visiting! In addition to the exciting Front Row daily beauty showcase and demonstration event hosted by UAE-based multinational The Nazih Group, the show will once again host Quintessence – its exclusive platform where global niche fragrance brands will showcase their of creation in a luxurious and contemporary setting.

The show will also host the industry’s highly anticipated Beautyworld Middle East Awards, which celebrate industry excellence in 12 categories, with winners to be announced at a gala ceremony at Address Skyview on October 31.
