Bengaluru resident Arun Kumar Vatakke Koroth won $1 million in the Big Ticket Draw Series 250 in Abu Dhabi. Mr Koroth’s winning ticket was 261031 and he won AED 20 million (approximately Rs 44,7567,571) on March 22.
Gulf News reports that Mr Koroth has been successful in his career Second try to win the jackpot.
First Mr. Koroth hang up the phone A prank from the show host who told him about his big win. He immediately ended the call and put the number on a blacklist.
Mr. Koroth and Khaleej Times says, “After getting a call from Big Ticket, I thought it was fake, maybe a prank. I disconnected and blocked that number. After a while, I got a call from another number,” he said.
Mr. Koroth heard about the Big Ticket live draw from his friends and started buying Big Ticket tickets online.
He decided to buy another ticket from big ticket website March 22.
Mr Koroth expressed his surprise at winning the jackpot and said he was “still in disbelief”.
”I couldn’t believe I won first prize. I still can’t believe it. I purchased this ticket through the “buy two get one free” option. The ticket I won was the third,” He added.
The site reported that he had been hospitalized for knee surgery. He wanted to use the money to realize his lifelong dream of starting a business.
”I have a dream. I will try to achieve the same,” he said.
Mr Koroth was not the only Indian to win; Bahraini resident Suresh Mathan took second prize of AED 100,000 (roughly Rs 2,237,837), Khaleej Times reported. Muhammad Shefeek, an Indian citizen of Oman, was awarded the third prize of Dh90,000.
