The indelible legacy of Bollywood’s celebrated choreographer, Saroj Khan, continues to stand unmatched. Spanning a remarkable career of over four decades, she choreographed more than 2000 songs, including iconic hits like “Hawa Hawai,” “Ek Do Teen,” and “Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai,” among numerous others.
Although Saroj Khan passed away in 2020 due to a cardiac arrest, recent reports confirm that director Hansal Mehta and producer Bhushan Kumar are collaborating to create a biographical film that will celebrate her extraordinary life.
As per Pinkvilla, the project is currently in the developmental stage and is slated to commence production in 2024.
According to the report, the biopic will be presented in an episodic format to vividly portray Saroj Khan’s journey, which serves as an inspiration to countless dancers worldwide. Hansal Mehta is diligently conducting extensive research to ensure a thorough representation of her contributions to the dance community.
Bhushan Kumar also confirmed the project in an interview with Pinkvilla, stating, “We are working on Saroj ji’s biopic, which Hansal sir is directing and creating. That’s in the writing stage. In OTT, you have to write a lot, and when it’s a biopic, it’s a lot more.”
