[ad_1]

US President Joe Biden (Joe Biden) announced a series of measures to increase the US vaccination rate against COVID-19, including requiring federal employees to be vaccinated and forcing large employers to ensure that their workers are vaccinated or tested for the virus every week.

In a speech on Thursday, Biden was frustrated with some Americans. Refuse Vaccination in the context of a surge in virus cases and deaths caused mainly by unvaccinated people.

He said: “It is unbelievable, and even more frustrating, that we have the tools to fight COVID-19, and a small number of Americans supported by a small number of elected officials are preventing us from turning the situation around.”

Biden condemned what he called “pandemic politics”, saying that the new requirements are aimed at reducing the number of unvaccinated people in the United States.

He said that of the nearly 330 million people, about 80 million eligible people have not yet been vaccinated.

“I announce that the Department of Labor is developing an emergency rule requiring all employers with 100 or more employees and co-employing more than 80 million workers to ensure that their employees are fully vaccinated or tested negative at least once a week,” Biden said .

The White House said in a separate statement that the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is developing new regulations. According to Reuters and the Wall Street Journal, companies that do not comply with the regulations will face a fine of up to $14,000 for each violation.

As Biden takes strong action, the United States and the world are working hard to contain the resurgence of the virus.

In the mass vaccination campaign, after the infection rate in the United States declined in the early summer, the virus Has been soaring In the past two months, the highly contagious Delta variant has reappeared.

Biden pointed out that some large companies, including the conservative media Fox News, have required employees to be vaccinated.

The President also announced that all employees of medical institutions participating in federally subsidized health care programs must be vaccinated-the White House said that this rule will cover 17 million people.

“If you seek treatment in a medical institution, you should be able to know that the person you are treating has been vaccinated-simple, straightforward, and period,” Biden said.

Republicans refused to take measures

Republican lawmakers quickly condemned Biden’s statement. Congressman Thomas Massey, who bluntly opposed vaccine authorization, called these measures “absolutely unconstitutional.”

Congressman Dan Bishop hinted at the legal challenges that these requirements may face. “What is unconstitutional is often untenable in court,” he wrote on Twitter.

Some Republican governors also opposed the new requirements. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp said on Twitter: “I will seek all the legal options available in Georgia to prevent the Biden administration from blatantly and illegally exceeding its powers.”

The Republican National Committee said in a statement that it intends to sue the Biden administration for vaccine authorization.

Biden said in his speech that the patience for people who have not been vaccinated is “fading,” and emphasized that their refusal to vaccinate gives everyone a chance to return to their pre-pandemic normal state.

“My message to unvaccinated Americans is: What are you waiting for? What else do you need to see? We have been vaccinated for free, safely and conveniently,” he said.

Biden also urged private entities to implement their own vaccine requirements.

Biden said: “I appeal to those who run large entertainment venues-from stadiums to concert venues to movie theaters-to ask people to be vaccinated or have a negative test as a condition of admission.”
