U.S. President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that Russia had “brazenly violated” the core principles of the United Nations Charter after a military escalation in Moscow and threats from Vladimir Putin as he campaigned for international support for Ukraine at a world forum.

His response came amid an uproar over Putin’s mobilization of military reserves and an update on his nuclear threat.
Speaking at the 77th UN General Assembly at UN headquarters in New York, Biden said reports of Russian abuse of Ukrainian civilians “should make your blood boil.”
He said Putin had shown “reckless disregard” for his country’s responsibilities as a signatory to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons over the new nuclear threat in Europe. Putin has not attended the United Nations since 2015, the year he sent military planes into Syria.
A day earlier, France’s Emmanuel Macron and Germany’s Olaf Schultz slammed Putin’s aggression, accusing him of being “imperialist.”
