Blacklane, a leading driver-hailing service operating in more than 50 countries around the world, has launched the region’s first all-electric fleet in Dubai, in line with the UAE’s strategic initiative to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
Blacklane’s mission is to create true peace of mind by inspiring a better future by delivering flawless experiences around the world. The company’s diverse business model offers a range of chauffeured transfers including one-way, return; airport transfers; hourly and daily bookings within Dubai and travel between emirates, all with a 60-minute delivery time.
The newly launched on-demand service is available at DIFC, Downtown Dubai, d3, Business Bay and DXB airports, with plans to roll out across the city later this year. Blacklane’s transparent pricing is fixed at the time of booking through the mobile app and provides a consistent level of service excellence and comfort for excursions and journeys between emirates.
Mercedes EQS bespoke top-of-the-line two-tone fleet with ventilated seats, seat massage and ambient cabin lighting creates a luxurious oasis of tranquility in this fast-paced world. In another first for the region, Blacklane launched its proprietary Driver Training Academy in September 2022, designed to train all drivers to the highest standards of service, safety, manners and judgment.
The impeccably dressed team of drivers, which also includes female drivers, work exclusively for Blacklane on permanent full-time paid contracts. Each driver receives continuous training in both theoretical and practical aspects of driving and servicing throughout his career.
“Over the past five years, we have successfully served hundreds of thousands of clients across the Middle East,” said Nicolas Soucaille, General Manager for the United Arab Emirates.
“All of our drivers are certified through Blacklane’s Driver Academy, ensuring they are fully prepared to provide our guests with a welcoming and high-quality ride. As part of our commitment to the environment, we are proud to offer a full Electric fleet, which will significantly reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, with the launch of on-demand services, we will provide our guests with an unparalleled experience while taking a step towards a more sustainable future.”
The news comes on the heels of Blacklane’s announcement of a partnership with Gargash Group, one of the UAE’s leading business groups, as its newest investor, Mercedes-Benz Mobility and existing investor Al Fahim Group.
The investment accompanies Blacklane’s transition to electric vehicles, including retaining the Supercharger network, to accelerate its move to net-zero emissions and meet customer expectations for sustainability. The launch of the Mercedes EQS fleet into the important Middle Eastern market makes Blacklane a test bed for new approaches to optimize its structure and subsequently scale it up globally.
Jens Wohltorf, Blacklane’s co-founder and CEO, said: “Blacklane continues to accelerate into a product-led company that successfully combines highly personalized service with an advanced technology platform.
“We are making strategic investments in the important Middle East market as a test bed for new product launches that will diversify our business model and allow us to expand and enter new markets. Congratulations to our Dubai Managing Director Nicolas Soucaille and his team have achieved this important milestone in the growth of our company.” – trade arab news agency
