BLAST has announced that this year’s World Finals will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The World Championships will be held at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi from 14 to 18 December. BLAST plans to have a live audience on the 18,000-seat stage.
This is at the heart of a three-year partnership revealed by BLAST and ADGaming to “build a thriving gaming and esports ecosystem” in Abu Dhabi.
Charlotte Kenny, general manager of BLAST Premier, in a press release. “The eSports and gaming industry is growing rapidly in the Middle East, with hundreds of thousands of people playing games as players or spectators.”
Eight CS:GO teams will qualify for the $1 million World Finals, the most prestigious event on the Counter-Strike calendar. Earlier this year, FaZe Clan had already won the PGL Antwerp Major.
This month’s spring finals are scheduled to take place in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The fall finals will be played before the world finals; it is scheduled for November in Copenhagen, Denmark.
