Former Warcraft and Diablo developers Jay Wilson and Julian Love, along with co-founder Dan Kelly, launched Gas Giant Games.
Wilson will serve as design director, Love will serve as creative director, and Kelly will serve as chairman of the game studio.
Wilson brings his experience, including serving as the former game director for Diablo III. He also served as lead designer on World of Warcraft: Legion.
Throughout Love’s career in the games industry, he served as the lead combat designer for Diablo IV. He was previously the lead technical artist on Diablo III.
Kelly’s work experience includes five years at THQ as Senior Vice President of Business Development. He also served as a director of The Walt Disney Company.
The studio is developing a new action role-playing game for PC and home consoles; a mobile version will be evaluated. Additionally, Gas Giant Games is preparing to reveal its title privately to publishers and investors at next week’s GDC.
“The development team’s time is precious, and there’s no reason to spend their time on anything other than a game they want to make. Man, do we want to make this game,” Love said.
