Blue Ivy Carter won the best voice-over award at the 2021 Voice Art Awards

She was chosen as the winner for the audiobook version of the popular children’s story “The Love of Hair”. Soon after winning the award, author Matthew A. Cherry spent some time congratulating Blue Ivy on Instagram.

“Congratulations to Blue Ivy Carter for winning the best audiobook narration-the children (Infanta to 12 years old) awarded to #HairLove at the @societyvoicearts awards ceremony last night,” Matthew wrote on Monday.

In addition to the author and Blue, audiobook producer Erick Black is also selected! For those who are not familiar with this book, it explores and celebrates the relationship between African American fathers and their daughters. The viral video of a black father combing his daughter’s hair was the inspiration for Matthew’s book.
