Roommates, when it comes to rappers giving back to the community, be sure to mention Bobby Shmurda’s name. Recently, he took time out of producing the highly anticipated album to give back to some well-deserved students in the community. Bobby donated 2,000 backpacks full of school supplies to students in New York City.according to Hip Hop DX, Students from six different schools from elementary school to high school received bags full of various supplies, including pencils, pens, pencil cases, notebooks, folders, highlighters, etc.
Participating schools include: PS 268 Emma Lazarus, PS 219 Kennedy King, PS 92 Adrian Hegeman in Brooklyn; Eagle Academy for Young Men III in Queens; PS 76 A. Philip Randolph in Harlem; and Health Opportunities High school is in the Bronx. Bobby is accustomed to giving back to society, so the opportunity to support students seems to be taken for granted. He not only put his schoolbag in to donate money, but also shared a special message with the students by voice.
In the recorded video, Bobby urged the students to keep an active track and get out of trouble, but most importantly, stay in school. “Please don’t cause trouble to your mother this year. Please don’t cause trouble to your teacher this year,” he said. He continued to explain to the students: “I want to say that I am proud of you being brave, strong and staying in school. Always remember that you are unstoppable. You can do whatever you want.”
As we said before, Bobby is no stranger to giving back to the community.Since his release from prison in February, he organized a Father’s Day event Last June, he served 200 poor families in The Win Shelter in his hometown of Brooklyn. While we are waiting for his upcoming album to be released as soon as possible, it is great to see Bobby performing well in the community and focusing on music! We like to see it.
